Mark,

This is a great capture of what true leadership is about. Having been in the corporate world for many years, the best leaders were those that led by example, not by title alone. A true leader has earned the respect of those they lead. You can tell a true leader by how many followers they have. This is even more prevalent with the advent of social media. Great job Mark!

-Tim Crawford

I love your points & they certainly back up 2 Timothy 3:10... "They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve..."

I have a favorite Craig Groeschel quote about leadership... ” We don’t recruit volunteers; we release leaders. Volunteers do good things but leaders change the world”.

Personally, when it comes to the church... Serving... getting your hands dirty... that is the trump card for effective leadership!

Great post, Mark. I especially like the distinction of instinctual leadership. Instinct plus collective wisdom is a powerful leadership quality.

Randy

Ok. Seriously, the turn out was more than any of us expected. That's great! Instead of just a comment to the blog, we think it deserves its own entry. So, forget the comment. Read the blog! Thanks again to everyone who was so kind to participate and share with us all.
